Kathryn C. Calhoun, MD, female infertility specialist in Atlanta, joined Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in the summer of 2012. She completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Calhoun earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Interdisciplinary Scholar. She then received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Calhoun completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where her peers elected her to serve as chief resident from 2008-2009.
Dr. Calhoun’s clinical interests include in vitro fertilization, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ovarian aging and reproductive surgery. Her research and teaching has focused on elevated body weight and reproduction. Dr. Calhoun has received several awards for her research, including the Luigi Mastroianni Resident Paper Award from the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society (PARES) and the Outstanding Abstract Award from the Endocrine Society. Additionally, she has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She also received the designation of a Top Doctor by Atlanta Magazine in 2019 and was named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2023.
Dr. Calhoun is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Calhoun’s interests outside of medicine include cooking, jogging, reading and yoga. She and her husband, Patterson Calhoun, enjoy spending time with their two children.
