CCRM Fertility to Remain Open for Select Fertility Treatments as a Commitment to Patient Health and Safety

Global leader in fertility treatment to keep doors open for patient egg and embryo freezing and retrievals despite ongoing spread of COVID-19

DENVER — March 16, 2020 — CCRM Fertility, a global pioneer in fertility science, research and advancement, is committed to continuing to help individuals and couples grow their families, while maintaining the health and wellbeing of all patients, during this time of uncertainty. CCRM Fertility’s 11 fertility centers throughout North America will remain open and operate with a symptoms-based approach to care. Any patients or staff who are currently unwell and are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, which includes fever, cough, malaise, and respiratory issues, such as coughing, chest tightness and shortness of breath, are advised to avoid contact with a CCRM Fertility site. Further, effective immediately, the organization will pause all embryo transfers and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs) but will proceed with other appointments, including egg and embryo freezing and retrievals.

“CCRM Fertility will continue to closely monitor the global COVID-19 outbreak and adhere to strict guidelines to prioritize the safety, health and wellbeing of patients and staff,” comments CCRM Fertility CEO and President Jon Pardew. As very little is known about COVID-19 effects on pregnant women, CCRM Fertility’s emphasis will be on fertility preservation. CCRM Fertility will continue providing egg retrievals and freezing eggs and embryos in anticipation for when COVID-19 is under control and better understood. CCRM Fertility will be following up with patients that have a previously scheduled embryo transfer or IUI at one of its facilities to discuss next steps.

“We recognize that COVID-19 will impact our communities for the foreseeable future and while we remain committed to every one of our patients on their fertility journeys, we must make the best clinical decisions for our patients,” adds Pardew. “It is important for us to pause embryo transfers and IUIs at this time out of an overabundance of caution. By working together, adhering to universal precautions and focusing on our patients’ health at every step, we can continue to provide a safe environment for everyone while maintaining continuity of superior fertility care.”

As a healthcare organization, CCRM Fertility has existing policies and guidelines in place that align with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local and state health authorities. All CCRM Fertility physicians and medical directors will continue monitoring the evolving situation and will stay in close communication with our patients.
