We offer genetic counseling to all our patients.
Genetic counseling is an important part of both preconception and prenatal care. Unlike many other fertility centers, we have a genetic counselor on staff to meet with patients. Continuous advancements in preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) enable patients to make informed decisions when planning their pregnancy. Patients with a family history of genetic disease have the opportunity to identify which embryos do not carry genetic diseases. In addition, PGT can significantly improve pregnancy rates, by identifying those embryos that are genetically and chromosomally normal.

IVF costs and considerations in Delaware
Delaware law requires certain health insurance plans to cover fertility care, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), for qualifying patients diagnosed with infertility. Coverage varies based on your medical needs and specific insurance plan.
On average, one round of IVF costs between $14,000 and $24,000. This cost does not include medications, tests, and procedures associated with the cycle. Does insurance cover IVF in Delaware?
In many qualifying cases, yes. Covered fertility services may include:
- IVF
- Up to six completed egg retrievals per lifetime
- Unlimited embryo transfers, when performed according to ASRM guidelines
- ICSI
- Fertility medications
- Fresh and frozen embryo transfers
- IVF using donor eggs, sperm or embryos
Who may qualify?
A qualified physician must verify an infertility diagnosis. Insurers may require less costly fertility treatments first, but they cannot require more than three cycles of ovulation induction or IUI before IVF. If IVF is medically necessary, those preliminary treatments cannot be required. Delaware also requires IVF egg retrievals to be completed before age 45 and embryo transfers before age 50.
Are all health plans required to cover IVF?
No. Delaware’s group-plan requirements generally do not apply to self-insured employers or employers with fewer than 50 employees, and certain religious employers may qualify for an exemption.
