Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) with IVF
Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is a powerful tool used in in vitro fertilization (IVF) that helps identify potential genetic risks, offering reassurance and supporting your hopes for a healthy pregnancy as you move forward on your path to parenthood.
Genetic testing options at CCRM
PGT is a scientific advancement that helps identify chromosomal abnormalities and/or hereditary conditions in embryos. This incredible technology reduces the chances of implantation failure and miscarriage.
PGT-A
CCRM Fertility was the first fertility center to offer PGT-A (preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy) on a day 5 or day 6 embryo. Now, PGT-A is the gold standard in screening for chromosomal abnormalities to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.
PGT-M
PGT-M tests embryos for any inherited genetic disorder that has a known mutation, including X-linked diseases like Fragile X, as well as cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs disease, muscular dystrophy, and, more recently, hereditary cancers.
PGT-SR
PGT-SR is available for those who have chromosomal rearrangements, which means sections of chromosomes are found in a different position than expected. Carriers are typically healthy, but PGT-SR minimizes the risk of passing potential health issues to their children.
