Why the PCOS Diagnostic Check-up?

PCOS is a hormonal disorder caused by an endocrine imbalance known as insulin resistance in which the body doesn’t handle insulin properly.

CCRM Fertility & Gynecologic Surgeons of Illinois offers a simple, low-cost evaluation priced at $300 for women who suspect they have PCOS.

You should get evaluated if you have any of these symptoms: irregular or absent periods, trouble ovulating, infertility, hirsutism (excessive hair growth) of face, chest or abdomen, thinning hair on the head, acne, weight gain or obesity, and insulin resistance.

1 in 10 women are affected by polycystic ovary syndrome, but it often goes undiagnosed for years
