What to expect at your appointment

Blood test for fertility-related hormones:

Your provider will check your Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) to measure the quantity of eggs remaining in the ovaries (ovarian reserve).

Physical exam and ultrasound:

Your provider will perform a transvaginal ultrasound to count the number of follicles in your ovaries (known as antral follicle count, or AFC) to estimate your ovarian reserve relative to your age.
