Dr. Molly McKenna is a board-certified gynecologic surgeon in private practice with Drs. Charles E. Miller and Kirsten Sasaki in metropolitan Chicago. Dr. McKenna received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and furthered her medical training with a residency in OB/GYN at Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, IL), where she received Outstanding Resident Achievement Awards in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. McKenna is a supporting MD and will not be taking new infertility patients of her own at this time.
Subsequently, she completed a rigorous two-year Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge, IL) under the guidance of Drs. Miller and Sasaki.
Dr. McKenna is trained in conventional laparoscopy and DaVinci Surgical Systems and performs procedures including, but not limited to, minimally invasive hysterectomy, myomectomy, removal of ovarian cysts and the excision of endometriosis.
Dr. McKenna has presented at national conferences and been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Her current research initiatives concentrate on improved fertility after ovarian cystectomy and evaluating pregnancy outcomes after cesarean section scar (isthmocele) removal.
Dr. McKenna believes women should not have to live their lives in pain and encourages her patients to become an active member of their own care team. She dedicates time to listen to her patients so they can work together to improve their pain and enhance overall quality of life through both medical and surgical treatment.
Recognizing the significance of fertility concerns among her patients, particularly those with infertility, Dr. McKenna places a great deal of importance on open communication about fertility goals. This proactive approach enables patients to participate in the shared-decision making process and ensures their treatment plans support those goals.
Dr. McKenna is accepting new patients in Naperville and Park Ridge for general gynecologic issues and exams, as well as surgical referrals for minimally‐invasive gynecologic procedures.
