In this day and age we often become so focused on the egg meets sperm part of the fertility process, we forget to take care of the whole package. This 4-week workshop series has been thoughtfully designed to allow you to experience different self-care methods of non-medical fertility support.
Join Heather Smidt and Kerry Hinds for a weekly 2 hours of complete relaxation and guidance through practices that will allow your body and mind to be as receptive to conception as possible. This workshop incorporates many of the body and energy work practices that are used to aid fertility in women: reiki and self-reiki techniques, restorative and body-led slow flow Yoga, meditation, fertility self-massage, and auricular (ear) acupuncture. These methods of bringing harmony to the mind and body are powerful and transformative. By affecting the body holistically, it gives women the opportunity to truly relax, heal, reduce stress, and become as fertile as possible. An additional component to this great workshop is the building of community around an often isolating experience, providing women with a safe and non-judgmental space to speak of their experiences. No previous yoga experience required.
The workshop is open to all women who are on their path to becoming a mother, whatever it may look like. This includes women who:
*Are undergoing Assisted Reproductive Therapy (IUI, Hormone Therapy, IVF)
*Are finding it is taking longer than expected to get pregnant
*Have experienced pregnancy loss or losses
*Are at the beginning of their pregnancy journey and would like to prepare the body
*Are looking for a non invasive approach to support their fertility
This series is open to women who are presently not pregnant and respectfully not for women who are already pregnant.
Please note: Restorative Yoga, Acupuncture, and Mindfulness Practices have been examined and scientifically supported to be beneficial to fertility, with many studies linking traditional acupuncture care to increased IVF success rates. Meditation has been seen to help women in IVF treatment have better quality of life and coping skills. This workshop is specifically labelled as supportive to fertility, thus meaning that we are not claiming that doing these practices will guarantee pregnancy. We suggest that you use these techniques alongside any other therapies you are undergoing.
